Why I Am “votedmyconscience”
“But hah! This year I managed to vote for a major party candidate AND vote my conscience.”
What does my Web log name mean? It’s somewhat reactionary. A common campaign rally for third party candidates (for whom I strongly support their candidacies) is that you should vote your conscience. The implication here is that if you vote for a major party candidate, you aren’t voting your conscience. But hah! This year I managed to vote for a major party candidate AND vote my conscience. I think that happened for a lot of people out there. Maybe that’s why Obama won it easily.

With that setting the stage, welcome to this Web log. My next entries will detail the many presidential votes I’ve made against my conscience over the years. In the next week or so, I’ll get around to telling the story of how I got an’09 Inauguration reservation. And stay tuned through inauguration day.
